Loosen the Belts and tighten the purse strings

Being completely unaware of the pending season when I wrote the menu and planned the next supper club - I am now canceling the upcoming dinner on the 27th November due to lack of zeitgeist. Will be back next year with a new summer menu to titillate the tastebuds.... stay tuned......

About the Chef

Cheryl Beere has been cooking professionally for 24 years.

Through the course of these years, countries and cuisines, she has amassed an incredible amount of knowledge and experience, in her pursuit of new methods, tastes and inspiration.

In Auckland Cheryl opened and operated the Atomic Café and Roasters on Ponsonby Road, and wrote the Atomic Café Cookbook.

Moving to California, in 1996, she studied Macrobiotic Diets and Nutritional Counseling in Northern California. She went on to run Vegan takeout and delivery services throughout the San Francisco Bay area, teaching International Cuisines to Adults and working as personal chef to an array of musicians (such as the Beastie Boys, Tori Amos, Beck, Dave Grohl, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake to name a few) through North America and Europe on their various tours, or for them personally at home. She also worked for a stint for Google as Vegetarian Chef at their Headquarters in Mountainview, California.

Returning to New Zealand with her young family in 2008, Cheryl began planning the Local Supper Club which launched a few months ago, and is now cooking degustation menus of favorite dishes and new ideas to small groups around New Zealand.
